Tammy's Dept. Store
Tammy is the wife of Jeff Wandler, who owns the museum. Many of these stores represent her collection whereas Jeff mostly collects the porcelain signs and gas pumps.
Together their collections have turned this museum into an "Americana" museum. Capturing a glimpse into the daily life over half a century ago.

Zenith TV's & Radios
1930's

Radio and Television revolutionized entertainment and news delivery. Entire industries were born from it. And in each medium's begin it was a status symbol and source of pride for a family to be able to say they had one.
Zenith was founded in 1918 and was a behemoth in home electronics in the mid-century but sales declined in the '80s. Zenith filed for bankruptcy in 1999 and was bought up by LG.
Salesman Samples
1930's

This case was used by traveling salesmen. Able to fold up and carry house to house and easily display.
Founded in 1904 manufacturing work boots and is still in operation today. They have expanded into clothing, home decor, and beauty products.


RED GOOSE SHOES
Their peek was from 1906-1953.
Much of their advertising focused on the durability of their children's shoes, appealing to the parents. And the unique styling, appealing to the children.
Kids received a Golden Egg bank with each shoe purchase which contained discount tokens or small prizes. The golden eggs were dispensed from the countertop red goose.

1900

Nipper was born in 1884 and was named such because he would nip at the heels of visitors. In 1900 an image of him listening intently to an Edison-Bell Cylinder phonograph was used as the trademark for RCA Victor Record. Nipper still makes appearances in different marketing materials and projects.

50s

The Buster Brown Shoes brother and sister mannequins.
The dress that the girl is wearing Tammy's grandmother made.
Commercials
40s - 50s

These charming commercials represent many products that still exist. Notice both the differences and the similarities to modern advertising
Miniture Samples
1950s

Door-to-door salesman would carry these samples as examples of the stiles and the boxes they came in.
The gold buckles below were used to dress up shoes for different events.
Perform
1950s

These plug-in night lights would produce heat from the light bulb and would heat scented oils that you would pour in a spout that you can see on the back.

Mail order baby shoes. The little white shoe came from the bag. The other shoe is still in the bag.
Corset Display
Early 1900's

From a Henderson Corset store in Deadwood, SD.
This was used in stores to display corsets.
