Desoto
Original

Original but with a fender repaired and poorly painted at some point. Currently in the shop being serviced.
DeSoto was a division of Chrysler from 1928 to 1961. Created by Walter Chrysler to compete with middle priced quality competitors like Hudson, Pontiac, and Studebaker.
DeSoto's sold fairly well and had memorable features throught its lifetime. But as the late 50' approached, the market segment was too saturated and there was little to differenciate the price brackets of automobiles leading to manufactures slimming down.
Mercury
1965
Mercury M series trucks are rare in America. They were primarily developed for Canadian buyers as many communities only had a Mercury dealership or a Ford dealership. Not both. This allowed Ford to keep a footing in the truck market regardless of the dealership branding.
Developed from 1946 to 1968. Earlier models had more differences from their Ford counterparts. But later years, like this one, closely resemble the Ford version aside from the front grille and a few badges.
Artist Series Globes
Some of the globes on the top row are reproductions. A few are vintage globes but most are limited edition collectible artist renditions. Not to be confused with reproductions. Limited run globes that are hand-painted and oven-baked one color at a time. The images represent marketing material from the companies and not production globes.
GoodYear and The Rubber Company
Founded in 1898 by Frank Seiberling in Akron, Ohio. First producing bicycle and carriage tires and then advancing with the automobile industry.
They named the company after Charles Goodyear, the creator of vulcanized rubber in 1844.
