FRONTIER
Founded in 1940. Headquartered in Cheyenne, WY where their refinery was located. The original refinery was created by the Bay Petroleum Company that was restructured and formed the Frontier Refining Company. Was one of the few companies to provide 100 octane fuel for the allied forces in WWII. The war effort is what allowed them to expand their refinery to include the higher octane fuel and the advanced refining technologies that it required. By the mid 55's they had moved into offices in Denver, CO.
In 1991 Wainoco purchased Frontier and changed their name to Frontier Oil Corp. In 2011 Holly Corp. and Frontier merged to form HollyFrontier.

Time Clock
The first mechanical time clocks came in the later years of the 1800's. The official patent was filed on 1890 by Willard Bundy and formed the Bundy Manufacturing Company. Which soon became the International Time Recording Company.

We only know of 3 of these existing. In the original red rippled body. One side is real. The other is a painted replica to match.
Recently sold at auction for $13,200.
Stamps sign
Found in a junkyard in Cheyenne. Restored.
These types of signs were common at service stations and general stores. Either near the sidewalk or the gas pumps
Keyhole Sign
1955
Referred to as a "keyhole" sign due to its shape resembling an antique keyhole.
Has recently auctioned for $31,000!
As the old service stations closed down and new businesses moved in, they would often paint over the old gas station signs with the new business logo. As was the case with this sign.
When Jeff purchased this in Colorado, it was painted over with "Dance Hall."
Removing the paint revealed the original porcelain sign.
Cut down from 18ft in order to fit inside.
