The car that brought automobiles to middle-class America. As well as revolutionizing the manufacturing process by utilizing the assembly line method instead of building an entire vehicle one at a time. 

Produced from 1908 to 1927.

Chevy 490 Van

1918

The 490 automobile was first released in 1915 for $490 ($13,244 today). Was made to directly compete against the Ford Model T which was $495 that year. Prices rapidly increased in coming years but the name stayed. 

In 1918 Chevrolet took their 490 car design and beefed it up into a half-ton rated light delivery chassis. 

4 cylinder engine producing 24 hp.
