The Gran Turismo Hawk was only produced from '62-'64 and was the top of the line of Studebaker at the time. Heavily inspired by european design. It was the last of the "Hawk" line that was started in '56. Only 8,388 of these sold that year. In the 3 years only 13,881 were sold in total. In comparision, their major competitors were the Ford Thunderbird and the Pontiac Grand Prix which sold 233,789 and 166,964 vehicles respectively.
Studebaker stopped producing automobiles in 1967 due to poor sales.

When a new gas station was being built companies would have a revealing ceremony announcing what brand it was. As part of this they covered the globes with this question mark to mask the brand until the revealing.
